Power Ten Rowing is a scholastic rowing club open to 6th - 12th grade students from Orlando area schools. We have a year-around high school rowing program and starting this year a seasonal middle school rowing program.

Previously associated with Bishop Moore High School, Power Ten began its rowing program in 1996. From those humble beginnings, with borrowed equipment and volunteer coaches, Power Ten has grown into a full-fledged scholastic program for both Men and Women. Power Ten has its own dedicated coaches, its own fleet of boats (5-8's, 4-4's, and a Pair), training equipment, launches, food/gear trailer and a wonderful group of student athletes.

Returning to its roots as a club team in 2006, Power Ten is now able to recruit rowers from all area high schools (and middle schools).  For students whose schools do not have a rowing program, Power Ten is a great option. Power Ten is actively seeking students who want to row
where the smaller team size means more time in the boat per rower and a serious-but-fun approach to rowing amps up the fun quotient.

Power Ten rowers have worked hard and brought home medals and cups from around the state of Florida. The 2008-2009 season was very successful for Power Ten! Our woman's team saw impressive numbers and brought home the Woman's All Points Cup from Stetson Sprints along with many other awards and medals. The Men's team had a great season, medaling in almost every race they entered. The team also took the All Points cup from Stetson Sprints and the 2nd Over all Points Cup from the John Hunter Regatta. At the Regional level all; all boats that entered advanced to the Grand Finals which was a first for Power Ten!

Even while winning medals and awards, Power Ten requires that its rowers be STUDENT ATHLETES. Rowing is an intense workout that develops cardiovascular strength and endurance, and it is also very time consuming.  Despite that, our rowers perform at or above their class level and tend to perform at the top of their class in GPA. Power Ten athletes have gone off to colleges such as University of Miami, University of Florida, Holy Cross, University of Central Florida, Rollins College, and many others, where at some continue to row.

Financial support for Power Ten comes through rower dues. Power Ten sponsors booster/fundraising activities (such as the annual Sunrise Sprints Regatta in December), advertising opportunities and individual fundraising activities, often in conjunction with major city/county venues such as the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center and the Amway Arena. Power Ten will work with any rower who is committed to its program, showing the discipline and motivation to practice and compete, to make sure financial constraints do not stand in the rower's way.
